Shabbat Shalom!

I am very sorry that I haven't posted in a while. We are very busy here on the farm with Shavuot this Sunday. This erev was ............not hectic, just busy. We have a bunch of families coming tomorrow and we made a bunch of food. Shabbat is always more appreciated when erev is busy don't you think? Our donkey got out of his pen just before sunset and he started eating our garden, strawberries in particular. We could not find his halter so I just wrapped a dog leash around his neck and clipped it. Once I had it on he is as gentle as a kitten. Not that he is aggressive or anything, but donkeys are known for being stubborn:)

The fireflies are out! after dinner/dessert all the little kids ran around and caught them. Mama held the jar and it filled up rapidly. Days like today remind me how good a family is. When there is only two or three in a family there is less to do. When there is more in a family there is more to do what needs to be done. Shabbat is a day of rest where we can sleep in (usually) so I can stay up pretty late tonight.

Shabbat Shalom,

Introduction

Hello Y'all out there in computer-land!

Have you ever really stopped and thought about how many people really visit your blog or website? People in the north pole might be stopping in! (Do they have computers in the north pole or is it too cold?) Anyway, let me tell you about myself and my family. I live in Tennessee with my BEAUTIFUL family, I am soon to be 13 and the oldest of 6 children, next comes Elijah (10) Naomi (7) Gideon (5) Eliana (4) & Chazaq (1) . We have 20 hens, 15 chicks, 3 roosters, 1 donkey, 15 Barbados Black Belly Sheep, 1 Dog, 4 cats and Elijah has a couple of Amphibians in his room.

I love to read in my spare time! If I have a good book, than all else is forgotten. I play the piano, mostly worship, and love to be outside. I also enjoy Art, (Doing it, not looking at it don't get me wrong=), Math, (Well, most of the time!) and being in the kitchen and cooking. Some of my main chores are feeding and watering the chickens, and dogs, babysitting Chazaq, and making desserts for my mom and dad to finish up after I go to bed =). Horses are my favorite animal, even though I really don't have experiance with them. I think that light purple is my favorite color.

Well, I think that is enough about me!

Love,

Understanding The Fear of the Lord (Bright Lights)

Me and My Mom are doing a study called Bright Lights. It is designed to encourage young ladies to walk in the light. We just finished the first bunch of lessons and this is one that encouraged me.

The fear of YHVH is the beginning of wisdom Proverbs 9:10
The fear of YHVH prolongs life but the years of the wicked will be short Proverbs 10:27
Let not your heart envy sinners: but continue in the fear of YHVH all the day. Proverbs 23:17

The fear of YHVH does not mean being frightened of Yah. Terror will cause you to flee from him, but fear will draw you to him. Fearing YHVH is knowing and taking seriously the fact that one day we will stand before our holy and just Creator and give account to Him.

There is a hidden obstacle that often we young ladies don't see, Fear of what other people think of us, the fear of man. The world has very different standards than Yah has, so we should be careful that our standards are as close to Yah's as we can possibly get.

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but but whoever trusts in Yah is safe. Proverbs 29:25
In the fear of YHVH one has strong confidence and His children will have a refuge. Proverbs 14:26

Confidence in him is so precious I wouldn't trade that for anything! I have found it helpful to read the Bible more and memorize scripture, and study it to figure what Yah's standards are,(i.e. modesty, attitude etc.)
If He is on my side than who can be against me?

Maple Popcorn

My family loves popcorn! My mom has come up with a dozen different ways to season it. Salt & Pepper, Dipped in mustard, parmasean cheese, and now, maple syrup! She even makes her own seasoning mix.

3/4C Maple syrup
1/2C Unpopped popcorn

~Put popcorn in your popper.
~Put maple syrup in a small saucepan
~While Popcorn is popping, bring syrup to a boil.
~Once popcorn is popped, and syrup is boiling (but be careful not to cook the syrup too long or it will turn to sugar) than drizzle the syrup over the corn. Make sure to DRIZZLE it! If too much of it goes in one place, than it will clump.
~ Let cool

Enjoy!
